Mr Mokgatlhe is a seasoned and strategic leader with a distinguished global career spanning over 35 years. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Botswana and a Master of Science in Transport Economics from Cranfield Institute of Technology in the United Kingdom, complemented by several specialized executive short courses.
Mr Mokgatlhe has held senior leadership roles across Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and the Netherlands, gaining extensive management experience in the aviation and petroleum sectors. He was the founding Managing Director of Botswana Oil Limited, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring security of supply and facilitating citizen participation in the petroleum sector. He has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Shell Namibia Limited, Shell Oil Botswana, and as Government Relations Advisor for Africa at Shell Group, based in the Netherlands. Earlier in his career, he was Chief Executive Officer of Air Botswana, where he successfully led the airline to profitability in a highly complex operating environment.
In addition to executive leadership roles, Mr Mokgatlhe has served as Chairman and Director on several boards, including FAR Property Company, National Development Bank, Botswana Tourism Organisation, and Botswana Development Corporation. He is currently the Chairman of Cresta Marakanelo Limited.
Mr Mokgatlhe brings deep expertise in corporate governance, business development, finance, and stakeholder engagement. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Prax Botswana (Pty) Ltd, where he oversees the company’s strategy, governance, overall management, and organizational transition.
